Thema: You get what you pay for with Ugg Australia boots
Seventeen years ago I can remember my old English teacher walking into our classroom; it was snowing outside and it had settled overnight. She laughed along with us when the entire class of 12 year olds laughed unforgivingly at her choice of footwear. Said teacher was thin as a rake, remarkably so, she told us that her choice of footwear was practical, kept her feet and legs warm. We laughed at the rediculously huge, fluffy boots that seemed to stretch up most of her skinny twig-like legs. If only we'd have known, she was light years (well, decades) ahead of the her time!
UGG Australia boots are everywhere, everyone has a pair of ugg or ugg like boots. I'm writing this now as I have had every type of rola-cola, £5 a pair copy that fell apart after 3 minutes use, I've had long ones, short ones, a pair of Marks & Sparks ones at a cost of £50, they were nice and lasted well.
Then I got a pair of UGG brand boots, proper bone fida Uggs and they were worth every penny. The difference in quality is noticeable from the first time you wear them. They don't stretch out over your feet becoming a slack fit like the cheaper versions.
The colour is rich (I chose chocolate brown), they are comfy, hard wearing and incredibly warm. The sole is made from rubber so you're feet are well protected from the wet and I have to say, the sheepskin uppers are not as delicate as I expected them to be. I've been out in the rain a few times and I haven't managed to water-mark them yet. They are snug like sleeping bags on your feet and legs - they'd make great slippers.
They're really not suitable for long walks as I discovered when I decided to walk the five mile journey to work. Although not painful, I did end up with big blisters on my heels, so really they're just a general purpose boot, extra useful in cold weather. I suppose they're a bit trendy now too.
I got my pair from Shu for £131.99, you can pick them up at various high street retailers and on-line. My friend got some from a web-site that delivers from Australia, which is where the boots are made. They set her back £79 including shipping, which is a bit of a bargain. It was the official UGG outlet stores.
I would definately recommend a pair to anyone!
